8/18/2023 0 Comments G force 2000 transmissionBeing a side cover trans makes the G Force transmission not as easy to work on, as does the "handcuff" which helps to prevent the mainshaft from spreading away from the cluster. The 101A main case is taller, on my car, the top of the case almost touched the trans tunnel. So if the shifter is not where you would like it, you need to order a different mounting plate to put the shifter where you want it. By comparison, my G101A GForce has one trans mount (GM style), and one shifter mount position. Both my Jericos were top and bottom cover cases, which makes for easier sevicing and repair. So you can typically use a factory style trans mount, whether you have a Ford, GM or MoPar. The Jerico came with 4 different trans mount configurations, and has 2 rows of shifter mounting holes on the tailhousing, about 1" between holes. Having used both transmissions, I feel that each of these transmissions have positive and negative points, heres my take Jerico Dr4 is lighter, and more "universal", fitment wise. Supposedly they reversed this decision shortly after I sold both my old Jericos, and started offering replacement parts for the DR4s again. After 20 years of running Jerico DR4s, I reluctantly switched over to a G Force G101A clutch assist 4 speed last year, after Jerico stopped making many new parts for the DR4. Keep in mind that G Force offers several different transmissions, both in clutch assist and clutchless versions. I would go for the one piece slider if going clutchless more reliable They make a split slider and a one piece slider version of clutchless They make clutch assisted 4and 5 speeds that are strong Gforce- pros- lots of versions out there.durable, Pros- they look cool but I hear they take more power to turn and parts can be tough to find Just try and find one that has the newer five lugs and snap rings holding gears on clusters I will say, this is a very very good and fun transmission. They all,work, but changing ratios is more involvedĪ lot of used ones have gearing for big motor light car sets ups so changing ratios can be pricey so consider that in price vs new There are many older versions with welded clusters and different lug versions three vs five. Good support from the company when I needed parts.Ĭons- fair amount of money to buy new (but still a good value) Liberty pros-great transmission built for well over 1000 hp in any of their versions Run away from any split slider clutchless they have. They only made one hybrid four speed clutchless with a one piece slider- not sure if they still do. Jerico- pros- you can find a used non clutchless fairly cheapĬons- limit to hp and weight it can handle over time I am assuming superstock or Comp rules here:
